Little House is a small family daycare located in the Estudillo Estates area of San Leandro, California (off Highway 580). Little House offers several programs.
The morning preschool program is for ages 2 to 5 and is four mornings a week (M-Th). A child does not need to be potty trained. Full day child care is also available.
It is a child-centered curriculum using developmentally appropriate practices for early childhood. It focuses on the five aspects of a child's self (social, emotional, physical, creative and cognitive). Music is a big emphasis (singing songs, playing instruments). Foreign language is introduced in a natural, fun way. Spanish, French, Finnish to name a few presented in context to the day's activities. The outside play area is roomy and enchanting. There are fruit trees, a strawberry patch, gravel pathways, patios for trike riding, a wooden boat shaped sandbox in the shade. An anti-bias environment is provided for the children. The "Peace Table" is where they learn to listen to others and express their own thoughts to reach a resolution to conflicts with other children.
The school age, after school care program is for children who are in kindergarten through the 3rd grade. It is available for the hours of 3pm to 5:30 pm., Mondays through Fridays. Early dismissal Wednesdays are also included.
There will never be more than 8 children under the age of 10 years of age at any given time during the daycare hours of 8:30-5:30.
Drop In Care is available on a daily basis for those times when you need occasional care. (Advance enrollment and reservation is needed)
