Description

We accept children from birth to 13 years old, even older if needed. Full-time, part-time, occasional drop-ins even emergency and short notice. We offer long-term respite care and weekend long care, we are available for it all. We are flexible enough so that if you might need a night/weekend out on short notice, let us know.

Our home and all the occupants are non-smoking, alcohol and controlled substance free. I am certified in infant, child and adult CPR as well as first-aid thru the red-cross. We are certified eco-healthy in-home childcare providers and we have taken numerous classes thru Metro Childcare Resource and Referral, we are also listed in the childcare registry. I have my food handlers card and serve USDA certified meals at no cost. We have a fenced backyard and huge front yard including a covered play area for rainy days. We assist with school age children's homework and do preschool exercises and lessons. We help with potty training and weaning children from bottles to sippy cups when needed, we are also breast milk friendly; our area serves Wilkes and Margarett Scott Elementary and the Reynolds School District. We are very flexible with parenting styles and will adjust to what your child specifically needs. We do not believe in any form of physical punishment, Positive Reinforcment is the key, we practice different styles for different ages and we do believe that children learn what they live. Our goal is for our home and family to be your child's second home and family.

If you would like to conduct a background, DMV or even a drug test on me or my husband we have no problem with that. We have purely clean criminal backgrounds, great driving records with valid insurance and as we mentioned above we don't and never have done any form of controlled substances.

We feel that our rates are very reasonable, we can send them to you via email for your review. If you have any questions regarding the rates we will be happy to answer them. We are very flexible with our billing styles and can bill the parent how you need us to. We are in the application process to begin accepting state pay.

In case you might have any questions we hope most of this general information about our home and policies answers them and puts most concerns that you might have at ease, but if not feel free to email us or call with any questions you might have.

The whole house has working smoke detectors, we also have a CO2 monitor and fire extinguishers on each floor of our home. We have an eco-friendly enviroment. If your child has a special diet or allergies, we will adjust our menus for him/her and are willing to work along your child's schedule as close as possible without disrupting the environment. We are perfectly fine with doing the same things that every mother and father does, IE. baths. We have an extra crib as well as two playpens, lots of blankets and little pillows for naps and lots of toys for baby's and preschoolers to help stimulate their growth and development, while we do allow the TV to be on for very, very limited times everyday, the only channels allowed are Disney, PBS and Nick JR, we do this so that the preschoolers can learn good life skills and lessons that they seem to pick up from TV so much easier than from adults and teachers(isn't that odd). We are nature lovers so we love to take the kids outdoors on walks or to play in the yard and during the spring and summer we have alot of outings and feildtrips, we offer parents the opportunity to enroll their children in swim lessons year round.

There are many things that we are open to doing and considering, every parent has the opportunity to offer advice on projects, field trips or anything else they would like to say. We use monthly newsletters, through e-mail, about activity plans and meals for that month and what each child is learning and how they are interacting with the other children. If the parent wants daily or weekly reports we are willing to do that as well.

Oh ya, we do have a cat, he is very kid friendly and pretty much keeps to himself. My husband and I, along with our children all live in our 1400sq ft four bedroom home. The playroom, is located on the first floor of the home and has been designed to be used for the sole purpose of childcare. The children can play in the room all they want, when it is nap-time everything is in the closet for them to lie down and rest, they still have full acess to the entire house. I have been babysitting cousins, co-workers and neighbors' kids regularly since I was 12 yrs old and we have been doing childcare since 2003.
Admission conditions
All enrollment forms and a 2 week deposit must be made in order for us to watch your child. For occasional care we have a form for parents to fill out and payment is due at drop-off.
