We have chosen an award winning, researched-supported curriculum for the 2005-2006 school year. Through the curriculum, your child will experience a well-rounded balance of learning activities.
Our learning curriculum offers your child many opportunities to develop important skills needed to help him/her be successful in school. Getting a child ready for school involves many pieces that include families, schools, and the community.
Therefore curriculum is only one part of the puzzle. We will be a crucial part of your child’s early education. Our learning curriculum supports teachers by offering suggested content that can be adjusted to meet your child’s individual needs and interest. Since we have a mix age group of two to four year olds the program is adjusted to fit each age group.
The materials and activities are designed specifically for the age groups we have. We will continue to provide for your child’s interest and support learning important skills and concepts that are developmentally appropriate.
As your child advances he/she will encounter a higher level of learning that challenges growth in his/her abilities while still having fun. Your child will be bringing home materials to keep you up to date on what he/she is learning here at preschool. We will also be sending home things that they can continue to use at home. Such as manipulative, words, colors, games, early math, early science. Etc.
Children will take home weekly binders that tell you what they did for the week. Parents are encouraged to write in the binders as well. When these binders are complete at the end of the preschool year you will have this binder as a memory book. Children will also take home their weekly reading pocket. There will be a book log to keep track of books read each week at home, and a book to be read that week. At the end of the week parents will take home the binders, weekly readers, and the folder that contains the child's work for the week. Parents are encouraged to work with their child at home to continue developing their learning skills.
