Five Miles High Preschool is the only licensed daycare on Five Mile Prairie. I am a home-based academic preschool and daycare. I'm licensed for 8 children, and have an assistant (Michelle ROCKS!) My home is new construction, very clean, and very safe. I am a certified teacher with a bachelor's and master's degrees in early childhood education. My rates include all meals and snacks, all of which are healthy, organic meals meeting or exceeding USDA standards.
I am currently working on national accreditation, which means I meet the strictest national standards for quality child care. References are available from current and previous families.
I have a preschool program that is child-based, meaning that the child will determine what he/she learns. If your child shows signs of wanting to read and is "ready", then we'll learn to read. If your child needs help with some skills, then we'll work on those. Each child is given a developmental screening twice a year, which is what I use to determine specific learning goals. I also use weekly themes for group projects.
I have full day and part day programs available for preschool, as well as half day Kindergarten. I am open during the summer and school breaks.
My hours are 7:30 am to 6:00 pm, but I am able to accomodate families who need me earlier. Quarterly I offer free parents night out, and other programs to support families. I believe in being a family advocate!

Admission conditions
Ages 2 to 11. There are two interviews: one with the child to determine if we belong together, and a second interview with parents only- no kids- to discuss policies and procedures.
