My name is Amanda Vital, I am opening a family child care in Salem soon. My flexible hours are 5am to 7pm. I have reasonable rate and currently only have two positions available, soon I will have more. I am in the process of registering with the state, I have my current food handler’s card, child and infant CPR & first AID, currently registered in the criminal history registry, and have completed most required classes to become certified. I am conversational in Spanish and ASL. I will only consider Child care aid payments if co-pays are paid in advanced. I have a smoke free home.
I am one of the oldest of 11 brothers and sisters; I feel this has given me tremendous experience in child care. I have previously been a nanny, had babysitting opportunities and a various other child related jobs for about 6 years combined. I have two young boys of my own, almost 2 and 3. My husband and I own a nice house in a quiet pleasant neighborhood in SE Salem. I am currently getting a nice playground for the backyard and I will have a seasonal garden for the children to enjoy. I have a small kitten and will be getting a puppy this summer, both animals will stay outdoors if need be.
I strongly believe that no one can ever force a child to learn by harsh structured education. A child will only want to learn when it is fun and fun is what I intend to make ever small stimulating activity. I have a flexible daily schedule for the children, including a variety of enriching lessons, meals, snacks, story/ nap/ quiet time, gross motor skill development (exercise), fine motor skill development (art, reading, writing, math, cooking, crafts…) occasionally fun lessons in computers, science, singing and music, and some foreign languages. I was a dental assistant for a few years so I would like to incorporate oral hygiene into the daily routine. I would like to try and plan small field trips in the future if all parents are willing. I might be able to transport a few children to and from local schools. There are plenty of age appropriate activities and toys for all to enjoy. I will be using all three bedrooms in my home, especially during nap time and when babies are sleeping. I will provide nutritious meals and snacks.
Most of children’s brain development takes place in the first 5 years of life. I am hoping to create a cheerful, preschool like setting where our every day lives are filled will small pieces of lives lessons for these children to learn and grow into wonderful assets of this world. I want these kids to leave with new friendships and smiles on their faces.
