Welcome to Tater Tots. My name is Sarah Kern. I run a license-exempt home based child care in Tiverton, RI. Because I enroll no more than three at a time, Tater Tots are always given the attention and care they need. I pride myself on providing a variety of learning activities and fun themes while maintaining a family atmosphere.
I know it is important that you, as a parent, can feel that your child is in a safe, caring and fun environment when they are in care. I understand how important it is to trust your child's caregiver and to know your child is getting the care and attention he or she wants and needs. That is why I keep my class size so small and my schedule flexible to meet the daily needs of each child.
I didn't always do this. Up until I had my daughter in 2005, I was a practicing estate planning attorney. I never returned to the "outside world" after she was born. I have been a child caregiver since I was nine years old. I come from an extremely large extended family and have I served as a nanny and babysitter throughout college and law school. I wanted to commit myself to providing a solid early education and socialization to my daughter at home. I love learning and teaching and I feel it shines through. So, I decided to open a family-friendly daycare.
I successfully completed Adult, Child and Infant CPR and First Aid through the American Red Cross and can provide you with my clean background check. I plan to continue ongoing training by taking "American Sign Language for Parent and Child," subscribing to an early second language program and taking other child enrichment courses.
