About me:
My name is Kathy Spisz. I have 32 years' experience caring for children of different ages, twelve of which running an in-home day care. I am a mother of three grown children and a grandmother of twelve. I am supervised by the State of Michigan Department of Social Services Child Care Licensing and I am insured. I am also a member of the Oakland County Child Care Association. In addition, I participate in the Mid-Michigan Child Care Food Program (MMCCFP) which regulates food service. I am a Licensed Certified Medical Assistant with experience in Pediatrics. Finally, I am Certified in Infant and Child First Aid & CPR. My home is inspected annually by the Farmington Hills Fire Department and Building Inspector. I have everything your child needs to be safe and comfortable.

What we do every day:
There is no “typical day”. I try to make each day different and exciting for the kids.
Things we enjoy doing are coloring, drawing, listening to music, and dancing. We play all sorts of different games and build with all different kinds of blocks.
Although there is no “typical day”, we devote time every day for reading, counting, as well as working on our colors, shapes, letters, and the basic things we need to help us to get ready for preschool and kindergarten.
When the weather’s nice, we spend significant amounts of time out of doors, digging in the big sandbox, climbing on the climbers, playing in the playhouses, riding bikes, playing ball, swinging on the swing, going for walks, racing each other as well as engaging in other fun outside activities. We also devote time to learning about nature such as recognizing different types of trees, animals, plants and flowers.
Mostly we just love to play with our friends everyday.

Description of accommodations:
In my house I have several areas dedicated strictly to children. I have a big play and activities room, a bedroom, a bathroom, and dedicated yard area.
A play room is equipped with many developmental toys and is ready for educational activities that we perform every day. It is daily sanitized with untraviolet lamp for your child's protection.
The bedroom is located close yet away from the play room, which accomodates infants' unique sleep schedule.
The bathroom is used strictly for children and is equipped with necessities for children that are potty trained or are in training.
The food is served in a dining area of the kitchen. The dining room has all accomodations for children of different ages.
The yard has a sandbox and a few other things to provide children with opportunity to develop physical strength.
I make sure that all children of similar ages are on the same schedule. As I mentioned previously, all accomodations are made to maintain infants' unique schedules. Daily report cards are provided for all infants to their parents.
