Welcome,
Parents and children call me Miss Anna, I am the owner and teacher of Morning Sun Child Care and Preschool. I have been in business for thirty-five years, I am married to Randy Andersen, we have a daughter, Sabrina, and a son-in-law, Austin.
In 2019 I became a grandmother to my l grandson, Edison. I currently hold a State Short Early Childhood from Bates Technical College, and I am working on my Early Childhood Education Certificate. I am a member of the Family Child Care of Pierce Country. I enjoy doing yoga, walking, cooking, and staying active in my community.
Morning Sun Child Care and Preschool is a constructive play-based childcare preschool /Emergent learning using the Washington State Early Learning and Development Guidelines for birth age children through 3rd grade to inform my curriculum development.

To better understand how your child will learn and develop at Morning Sun Childcare and Preschool, I am providing a PowerPoint slide presentation that showcases play-based learning activities. On the slide here at Morning Sun Childcare and Preschool or by visiting my Facebook page, here at you will see children playing. Through play, children begin to learn and develop and make sense of the world. From birth through 3rd grade, children develop the foundation for future learning. Each slide has meaning; for example, you may see a 3-years old child pretending to read to a six-month-old. This is language and literacy development, an important skill to communicate, read, and write. As a teacher, I am here to facilitate learning, ask open-ended questions like What do think the book is about? What are you reading? Asking open-ended questions helps build comprehension.
The environment at Morning Sun Childcare and Preschool is thoughtfully designed for your child’s learning. I am committed to your child’s development through language and literacy, art and music, science, math, manipulatives, sensory play, large motor skills, woodworking, blocks, and social skills.
