We are a fully State licensed Home Based Day Care and we pride ourselves on providing a safe, fun, attentive and child friendly environment for kids to play and learn about the natural environment around them.
Our day care is operated in a country setting within five plus acres of an enchanting apple orchard, flower gardens and wood lined, mowed nature trails, where we frequently encounter many species of birds, squirrels, wild turkey's, deer, snakes, salamanders, frogs and many other natural creatures that we study and learn about.
We utilize outside play as much as possible, weather permitting. This includes playing outside in the winter involving sliding, building snow forts, snow creatures and other outdoor activities, etc.
We have a backyard playground complete with double playhouse/club house structure, swings, monkey bar and slide.
We offer outdoor toys and games as well as indoor toys and games for all ages and offer occasional field trips to state parks, playgrounds and kid friendly places.
We have an outdoor bench swing for enjoying the shade or curling up to read a book.
We teach child friendly, interactive "old fashioned" games that require the children to cooperate with other children in order to play. Such as, "What's the time Mr. Wolf?", Kick the Can, Ghost in the Graveyard, Kick Ball, Tag, Hide n' Seek, and many, many more.
We encourage children to read books appropriate to their age level and we do arts, crafts, nature journals, photography and more. All children are encouraged to be creative and explore their imagination in art and nature projects.
We have summer BBQ's and picnics and celebrate all major holiday's and child birthday's with parties filled with decorations, appropriate games and loads of fun.
Our motto is "A Place Where A Kid Can Be Just A Kid!"
Meaning, kids should always be encouraged to be happy, play, have fun and use their imagination!
We are a year round day care and are closed only two holidays per year, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
We pride ourselves on being flexibile for busy parents, offering late pick up and early drop off times and will remain flexible in the number of hours or days that the children can attend. We will enroll children anywhere from one hour per week to fifty hours per week.
We require a signed contract for each child in attendance and accept financial aid from parents enrolled in a State program.
We give out a detailed Parent's Handbook stating all our policies, guidelines, rates and procedures to all enrolled parents. We also offer a packet for those considering our day care services. We encourage prospective Parents and children to browse our website and to schedule a visit to our day care in person for a meet and great and tour of the playground and trails.
We encourage all Parents and/or Legal Guardians to visit their children any time during the day. We check photo id's for all visitors that are not known Parents. We require signed authorizations for pickups of children by anyone other than a Parent and/or Legal Guardian.
We provide breakfast (if needed), Lunch and two snacks per day and all drinks. We offer nutritional food to all children each day.
We offer references upon request and work with local schools for the safety of all children commuting via bus to and from school from our day care.
We do not provide child transportation other than the occasional scheduled field trips that require an extra chaperone and signed permission slips from the Parents and/or Legal Guardians.
Safety of all children in our care is our number one concern!
We follow all confidentiality and other licensing rules and regulatrions as required by state licensing.
