As of February 15th, 2010, this is a LICENSED DAYCARE FACILITY!!
I am a licensed elementary school teacher who started an in-home day care in my Streamwood home. I was a Kindergarten teacher last year, and I believe I could really do a lot for your children. I have two children, and I am very picky about what they are exposed to (on TV or otherwise). I believe in regular exercise. We have a park right down the street from our house and we visit it regularly.
For older children, we have a "learning time" everyday where we work on our numbers, letters, and basic skills (shoe tying, manners, etc.) The parents here are so happy with the progress their kids are making!
Breakfast, lunch, and two snacks are provided!
I am First Aid/CPR certified, and before I got my degree, I worked in a daycare for over a year and have experience with children ranging from 6 weeks to six years old from that center. I have also been babysitting since I was 10 years old, and I have great references. Up until this school year, I worked at Streamwood Park District in their Afterschool/Kindergarten Program as well as teaching classes and being a camp counselor for the last six years. I take my job as a caregiver very seriously!
I have a structured program, but one that allows for some flexibility. I understand that no two kids are alike, and I am great at knowing what each one needs. I believe in open communication with the parents, no matter what. |
