Description

I have a Master's Degree in Elementary Education and have worked as a classroom teacher for the past 11 years. My husband also holds a Master's Degree and has been a 3rd and 4th grade teacher for the past 20 years. Last summer, my husband and I decided that I should stay home with our girls (4 and 7) and provide quality childcare for families in our area.

We have a 4 bedroom, 2,200 square foot house. The children have the run of the main floor, which is completely childproof. Naps take place in separate rooms so that the children get the rest they need. Preschoolers are on mats in the dedicated napping room. Toddlers/Wobblers are in their own pack n plays in the other 3 bedrooms. Infants nap in the family room where I can constantly watch them.

By keeping our group small, we have lots of individual attention and the children feel like they are part of a big family. Boo boos are kissed, those who like to snuggle are snuggled and everyone helps decide what we do. My years as a first grade teacher have allowed me to build up a large collection of materials. We have over 1,000 picture books and over 100 board books. We are constantly reading and looking at books. We also love to dance, sing, play in the play kitchen, play the piano, do crafts, finger paint and build with a variety of materials. When it's not raining or too cold, we play in the fenced back yard and on the play structure. In the warmer months, we love to play with water on the large back deck and run through the sprinkler in the grass.

When my husband is home in the summer, we go on weekly field trips to The Oregon Zoo, OMSI, local parks, the library, etc. During the school year we go on field trips when parents are available to help drive/chaperone.

I love being home with my girls and being a second mommy to several other children. There is no place I would rather be.
Admission conditions
We do have a 6 month old lab/boxer puppy named Gingerbread. She loves everyone but is kept separate from the children (crate, pen or outside) due to her young age.
