Description

The Learning Garden

Choosing a daycare/preschool for your child is one of the most important and difficult decisions you will ever make. It is my goal to provide a safe, happy, stress free environment for your child; a place where they can learn and grow physically, emotionally, intellectually and socially at their own pace. I believe children learn and grow through play and benefit from a structured, yet flexible schedule. In my home, your child will be given love, care and attention.

My doors are open to families needing full or part time care or for those searching for a small playgroup to encourage social interaction. I do ask for a one day minimum each week to establish consistency for your child.

Young children need to learn how to interact socially with peers, how to separate from mom and/or dad and how to accept direction from an adult other then their parents. This is a crucial developmental stepping stone in the early childhood years: developing a sense of self-autonomy. "I can do it myself!" However, sometimes either the parent or the child is not ready for a large daycare center setting. I provide a natural first step away from home, on to the road of "independence". Children and parents can separate from each other feeling confident that they are going to a warm, cozy place with a group of children where they can learn and play together.

I provide care for children in a family style, loving atmosphere. I have designed my own program that will provide a structured preschool curriculum. Weekly themes will cover numbers, letters, shapes and colors. I also believe music, communication and movement are very important parts of the healthy development of a child. Because I am able to give more "one on one attention" than a large center, I am able to encourage each child to grow according to their needs, not mine. I provide the parents with daily reports, monthly menu's and newsletters, in an effort to communicate schedules and routine during this wonderful time of growth, exploration and change.

I look foward to working with you and your child.
