Using an age appropriate curriculum I offer an educational program designed to fit the needs of each child. It is my belief that there is not an age to young to be developed. My approach to the learning experience is very hands on. I help your child develop their social and emotional skills, language, motor skills, reading writing and math skills. With the name Heritage in mind I will also be working with your child to assist them in learning more about the different heritages they may come in contact with. Your child will learn these skills and more through fun activities music dance and learning labs.
About Melissa: I have a bachelor’s degree in child psychology and I am currently working on my masters. I have also been working in the field with children since 1989. I have three and a half years of working strictly with children with special needs. Before moving to the area I owned and operated a home daycare in Rockford, IL for six years. While in Rockford I also worked for a few of the daycare centers in the area as a teacher. Since starting my daycare I have also helped others to set up very successful daycares in Rockford and in Urbana, IL. I am the proud mother of three children two daughters 16 and 15 and one son who is 8. Both of my daughters and several other children were home schooled in my day care for the first few years of school.
