I currently have openings in my licensed home day care. This is the first time I actually have 'openings', as my neighbors kept having little ones, but now they're getting big, so I do have some space available. I've been doing day care for 5+ years. I went to Illinois State for Elementary Education, but had a job working for Hewitt as a Business Operations Mgr. for 9 years. I decided to change it up and do something I enjoy, while having the opportunity to watch my children grow up. (Matthew 4, Haley 2, Brayden 10mths) I love kids, and love to watch them grow. All the kiddo's I started with since month 3, have now grown up, and although some of them are moving on to Kindergarten/preschool... they're still a part of my 'family'!
To the kids this is their second home. I teach manners, serve healthy meals ... with maybe the occasional cupcake ;). I serve breakfast, lunch and 2 healthy snacks. There is limited TV, as I want the kids to interact and play games dress up and make believe. We have educational games, books & projects. Crayons, markers, paint, play doh are brought out and played with daily in this house. We do go outside and have fun when weather permits. (We have a rainbow play set, bouncy house, sand box and giant blow up water slide for hot days!) I live in a cul-de-sac and have a fenced in back yard. There is a large park nearby as well. I believe in a schedule so the kids know what comes next, which makes them feel safe.
