At Pipers Little Playhouse my philosophy is I believe that parents and childcare provider play an important role in the development of young children, not only in transmitting knowledge and values, but, most importantly, by providing the emotional base from which a secure child can move out into the world as a learner and a "doer." Parents are a child's first and most important teacher. Here at pipers we provide an opportunity for children to learn, grow, and thrive in a comfortable safe place in the absence of their parent.
I see myself, however, as partners and never replacements for parents. I know that parents entrust their child to me for but a brief period and that they are in there for the long haul. Since parenting is such a complex job, I offer support to parents in nurturing their children and learning the new skills needed to cope with each stage of the child's development.
I also believe that children develop and grow to their
fullest potential in an environment that is emotionally secure and educationally challenging. When children interact
with people and objects in their world at the appropriate developmental level, they make permanent progress in the cognitive, language, motor, and socio-emotional areas. As each individual child makes discoveries in the process of playing
and "messing about," he or she is learning how the world operates. These interactions with materials and with other children become part of his or her cognitive structure. Then the next time the child encounters a similar situation or problem, he or she is able to use not only the information learned but also the process that was used. Being able to use these processes in new environments and in novel situations is a skill children need to have to face the challenges of the future world they will live in.
There are many benefits of attending an In-Home ChildCare arrangement.
*The Same child care provider, schedules to develop dependability.
*Individual attention to provide more freedom and exploration.
* Small group of children to limit exposure to illness and promote positive interactions with each other.
Activities: Range from Art, Science, Movement, Music, Outdoor Play, Age Appropriate Crafts, Clocks, Puzzles, Finger Plays, Coloring books, Painting, Story Time, Free Play, Singing, and Sense related activities. (Smell, sight, feel, touch, and taste)
recognizing colors, shapes, numbers, alphabets, and the months of the year.
I look forward to meeting with you and your child/children to discuss further your childcare needs.
Thank you! |
