Intelligent, Creative Programming is the way it works at ARTS AFTERSCHOOL and our newest program - ART ALL DAY LEARNING COOPERATIVE. Our program meets the needs of the whole child by offering intelligent curriculum, intelligent activities, and intelligent projects for all creative children.
The ART ALL DAY LEARNING COOPERATIVE serves the community as a family child care center for children 6 weeks to 12 years of age. Our main objective is to provide a positive atmosphere which will promote the social, physical, intellectual and emotional growth of children.
Our small size and limited enrollment insures that your child will receive the necessary individual care and attention he/she needs. Our environment will allow your child to develop at his or her own rate.
I am a licensed child care provider in the state of Maryland. I have a master's degree in Political Science but discovered during my time as a political appointee that working with children was really my calling. I stopped working in politics and took a drastic pay cut to serve as the Director of a non-profit child care and afterschool program in Southeast, Washington, DC. I directed this program -which consisted of children ages 1 - 12 for over five years. I recently decided that I would like to start my own program serving the community I live in. I am also a mother so I have experience with children of all ages both inside and outside of the home.
I am an experienced musician. I also teach drumming to children [separate from the child care program]. I have training in graphic design, art and other creative activities are always a part of the weekly schedule.
