I recently retired from a 14 year nanny career to open a licensed Family Home Day care and I am very excited to have your child join our family!
I am a 34 year old married mom of 3 boys ages 3 1/2yrs and 2yrs and 7 months. I began my child care career as a nanny when I was 19 and just ended with my last family a year ago to be able to take care of children in my own home. I had been taking my 2 older boys to work with me since my oldest was 2 months so my boys are very use to being around other children and very friendly as well! They are use to sharing their mommy with other children and I am use to sharing myself too.
We are a small group here at Yaya's being licensed for 6 children total. Three of which are mine so it makes for a very close knit "family like" atmosphere. I would say I offer a "home away from home" type care for the children.
Being a nanny for almost 15 years has given me a great deal of experience with many ages of children as well as multiples and children with special learning disabilities. My first family I nannied for had 8 children!
I have wonderful references and reccomendations from employers, friends and family alike.
We have a very large extended family and love spending time with all the cousins. We are a very healthy, active, fun, loving family and look forward to sharing all that with others who we welcome into our home.
Our home is right off of Meridian in Edgewood for very easy access. We are on a little over an acre of very private, secluded and safe property. We also have a huge covered back deck which is great for all the rainy days we have in Washington so we are still able to get out and enjoy some fresh air everyday!
Our home is very open and inviting and we have lots of fun and educational games, toys and activities for all young children both inside and out. I have a set schedule that we follow every day including circle time, morning calendar, some preschool activities and story time. My mom is also a kindergarden teacher so there are a lot of qualities from her that I have as well : ) I am a very clean and organized person and take pride in my home and personal surroundings.
I am trained in infant/child CPR and First Aid and also have my training in HIV and blood borne pathogens. I have a food handlers card and I have my 20 hours STARS training that is required by WA state and I continue to do STARS training through out the year as well. I will also be continuing to update my early childhood education through Early Achievers. I belong to the Family Home Child Care Association of Pierce County and go to meetings once a month to listen to special speakers and stay connected in the community.
