My name is Rae Goodman. My son and I reside in the beautiful suburbs of Kennesaw, Georgia--just miles away from the surrounding cities of Marietta, Woodstock and Acworth.
After working in corporate America for twelve years, I decided to celebrate my life by becoming part of the paradigm of leaders who chose to educate. I am an entrepreneur, a child care provider, a mentor, and an educator. I have acquired a M.S. and a B.S from Mercy College, New York. In addition, I am in state compliance by completing 10+ comprehensive classroom credit hours of child care development, including CPR and First Aid Training.
My mother, Rosemary Goodman, and I own and operate an in-home child care facility called 1, 2 Buckle My Shoe, Inc. We cater to children from six weeks to four years. Founded in 2001, our mission is to provide a safe, child-friendly atmosphere for families at a reasonable rate. To date, we are proud to say we have cared for, potty trained, mentored and educated over 100 children.
From an educational perspective, our wobblers, toddlers and preschoolers use the Mother Goose Time curriculum (www.mothergoosetime.com). It is filled with educational enhancements, motivational components, small motor skills activities, stories and basic child-friendly projects. Many of our children have entered Pre-Kindergarten equipped to handle the educational and social structure of public school.
