Salt Meadow Academy is a family home childcare and preschool program in Clinton, Connecticut that offers an environment where the child's natural desire to learn is stimulated through meaningful, appropriate, and playful learning experiences; one that meets the needs of each child as an individual.
Developmentally appropriate sensory and multi-sensory activities are used to develop skills and knowledge across all developmental domains including:
-promoting communication skills and build vocabulary
-developing social and emotional skills
-improving cognitive skills, including mathematical concepts
-encouraging a love for learning and exploration
-increasing knowledge of the physical environment

Active learning involves the use of physical movement and sensory experiences to promote growth across all developmental domains. Active learning promotes skills development and knowledge acquisition through exploration and discovery. Young children are experiential learners who acquire information with all their senses. The more senses used in the learning process, the more information children retain.
